REAL Political Advertisements Act - S.1596

This bill, sponsored by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and co-sponsored by Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Michael Bennet (D-CO), would expand current disclosure requirements for political advertising to explicitly state during the ad if generative AI was used to generate any videos or images in the ad. The House companion bill was also introduced in May 2023 by Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (D-NY).
