 restricts tech companies' ability to collect and process consumers’ personal data through data minimization requirements and bans the sale of sensitive data and minors’ data. It also provides consumers with certain rights, like obtaining a copy of their personal data from controllers and opting out of their data being used for targeted advertising.

 The pair of bills passed unanimously out of the General Assembly together with the 

 Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed the act into law.
