Tom Fish

Tom Fish is Head of Europe for the Data Transfer Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to empowering technology users to transfer their data between services. Tom specializes in technology policy at the intersection of competition and data protection, stemming from his background as a UK Government economist. His experience spans a number of major UK institutions including the Bank of England, HM Treasury, and the Competition and Markets Authority, where he played a central role in building the case for the new Digital Markets Competition Regime. Prior to joining DTI, Tom oversaw the public policy efforts of a UK data intermediary, where he founded and led the Coalition for Online Data Empowerment (CODE), a global coalition of businesses advocating for effective data portability.
