Tania Duarte

Tania Duarte is the Founder of We and AI, a volunteer non-profit organization focusing on critical AI literacy that runs the Better Images of AI library. She works on the decoding of narratives related to AI hype, AI inevitability, and the use of AI metaphors. She is on the founding editorial board of the AI and Ethics Journal, is a lead for TLA Tech for Disability, and a cofounder of Our AI Collective CIC. Tania has served on the Editorial Board of the RSA (Royal Society of Arts) Journal, the Public Engagement and Ecosystem Strategy Advisory Board of The Alan Turing Institute and the working group for the IEEE Standard on Data and AI Skills, Literacy and Readiness. She was named one of 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics 2021 and one of Computer Weekly’s 20 Most Influential Women in UK Tech 2025.
