Scott Timcke

Scott Timcke is a Senior Research Associate at Research ICT Africa, an African think tank based in Cape Town, where he leads the Information Disorders and AI Risk & Cybersecurity Projects. His primary area of expertise is in democratic development policy, industrialization, and the role of the state in promoting egalitarian outcomes. He is an Affiliate with the Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His second book, Algorithms and the End of Politics, was published by Bristol University Press in 2021.
