Rachel Mitchell

Dr. Rachel Mitchell is a staff psychiatrist and clinician-investigator in the Department of Psychiatry at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and an Associate Scientist at Sunnybrook Research Institute. She has a busy clinical practice focusing on mood disorders in adolescents and on youth in need of urgent assessment and treatment after presenting to the emergency department. Her research focuses on sex and gender differences in mood disorders, bipolar disorder, self-harm, and suicide in adolescents, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Mitchell is a featured spokesperson and content expert for youth mental health.
