Philipp Darius

Philipp Darius works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School's Centre for Digital Governance in Berlin. His research lies at the intersection of data, elections, and digital regulation. Philipp was a visiting researcher at GESIS Cologne, the Data Science Institute at the London School of Economics, and a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the MZES at the University of Mannheim. He also works with NGOs and foundations on tackling democratic challenges. In his doctoral dissertation, Philipp investigated the socio-political implications of political behavior on social media platforms and the risks of increasing democratic fragmentation. In his current research, he investigates political elite behavior on digital platforms, as well as digital platform regulation and data access under the EU Digital Services Act.
