Michael Yang

Michael Yang is an artificial intelligence researcher transitioning into policy. He is primarily interested in helping democracies use and regulate AI. Michael started his career as a research engineer at Salesforce. His investigation of bias in customer data sparked an interest in machine learning, which led him to research machine learning bias and fairness as a Ph.D. candidate. Last summer at the Center for Democracy and Technology, he worked on content moderation and AI explainability. Additionally, Michael advises STEM students on science policy as the Eastern Hub chair for the National Science Policy Network.
