Matt Kennedy

Matt Kennedy (or Wm. Matthew Kennedy) is an AI ethics, sociotechnical safety, and governance researcher working on AI evaluation and red teaming methodologies, especially for "high-risk" sectors, such as education. He is also a US-India AI fellow, where he is engaged in developing a taxonomy of harms AI systems might cause to the democratic institutions of each state for the high-level US-India AI Task Force. He joined the Center for AI and Digital Policy's Research Group in 2025. Originally trained in the history of colonialism and scientific governance, he has strong interests in decolonial AI and international AI governance as well.
