João C. Magalhães

João C. Magalhães is an Assistant Professor in Media, Politics, and Democracy at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and an Associated Researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in Berlin. His research investigates the politics and ethics of platform power, focusing on Big Tech companies. This essay was written with the support of a Veni grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
