J.B. Branch is the Big Tech accountability advocate for Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division, leading their work on AI accountability, data privacy, tech product safety, platform oversight, and child online safety. An expert on AI governance and the intersection of civil liberties and technology, his analysis has appeared in Tech Policy Press, Slate, The Root and other publications. He has advised foreign governments, the White House, Congress, and various state government officials on AI and tech policies. Previously, J.B. contributed to Louisiana’s automated expungement system and advised the US Department of Justice on privacy issues related to locative devices and civil rights. He holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University, Georgetown University Law Center, and Harvard Kennedy School.
