Ilana Beller

Ilana Beller leads Public Citizen’s state legislative work relating to Artificial Intelligence. She has worked directly with republican and democratic state legislators in over 40 states to support bipartisan common-sense AI regulations. She has been directly involved in the successful passage of election deepfake legislation in 20 states and intimate deepfake legislation in 10 states. Before working for Public Citizen, Ilana led electoral programs for candidates running for office. She holds a Masters in Public Administration from NYU. Ilana has been quoted by the New York Times, CNN, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Politico, and others in relation to her expertise on state regulation of deepfakes.
