Heidi Tworek

Heidi Tworek is the director of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions as well as a Canada Research Chair, and an associate professor of international history and policy at the University of British Columbia. She is a senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation as well as a non-resident fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. Her work examines the history and policy of communications. In 2022, she served on the Government of Canada’s Expert Advisory Group on Online Safety.
