Heidi Beirich

Heidi Beirich is a leading expert on American and European far-right movements, including white supremacy and neo-Nazism. In 2020, she co-founded the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism to combat global far-right threats. Beirich has testified in Congress on extremism and advised government agencies and tech companies on countering hate speech and domestic terrorism. She has written extensively on far-right movements, co-edited a book on neo-Confederacy, and is a frequent speaker and media source on these topics. Holding a Ph.D. in political science from Purdue University, Beirich previously led the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project.
