Grant Baker

Grant Baker serves as a Research Associate for Technology and Democracy at Freedom House, and covers Europe and Eurasia for Freedom on the Net. Prior to joining Freedom House, he worked as the Research Manager at SMEX, where he led the Beirut-based organization's research on digital rights, conducted grant writing on research and advocacy, and spearheaded CYRILLA, a six-organization global initiative cataloguing legislation and case law related to internet policy in the Global South. He graduated from Amherst College with a degree in Asian Languages and Civilizations and studied Arabic.
