Fabio Votta

Fabio Votta (Ph.D.) is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam at the Amsterdam School for Communication Research (ASCoR). His research primarily focuses on the impact of microtargeted political advertisements on citizens and society. He is part of the “Public Values in the Algorithmic Society” research consortium, which is funded by the Dutch state. Fabio completed his Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam, in which he explores the real-world application of political microtargeting, addressing the evolving landscape of digital political campaigning and its regulatory challenges. He is particularly interested in how algorithms shape the delivery of political messages on social media platforms, above and beyond the intentions of advertisers. Find out more about his work here.
