Emily Tavoulareas

Emily Tavoulareas is the Executive Director of Home Screen, a multimedia project helping parents grapple with how technology is distorting our lives, experiences, and relationships. She is an independent researcher focused on our often invisible dependence on technology, and on building the capacity of public institutions to make clear-eyed choices about it. She is the co-curator of the oral history of the US Digital Service, the team that was turned into DOGE. Emily also teaches at Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy, and leads the Congressional Tech & Policy Fellowship. Prior to her time in academia, Emily was a founding member of the first agency-level team of the US Digital Service and served as Senior Policy Advisor to the US Chief Technology Officer at the White House.
