Atoosa Kasirzadeh

Atoosa Kasirzadeh is a philosopher and AI researcher. She is an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University, a visiting faculty researcher at Google, and a 2024 Schmidt Sciences AI2050 early career fellow. Prior to this, she was a chancellor’s fellow and the director of research at the Centre for Technomoral Futures at the University of Edinburgh, a research lead at the Alan Turing Institute, a DCMS/UKRI senior policy fellow, anda governance of AI fellow in Oxford. Her research uses quantitative, qualitative, and philosophical methods to explore a range of questions about the societal impacts, governance, and future of AI. Atoosa’s work has been covered in the popular press including The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and TechCrunch.
